  • Business Students Advance to National KPMG Case Competition in NY

Students Ben Grozier, Alex Hepp, Chris Liquin and Lindsey Morrow won the Midwest regional round of KPMG’s Global Case Study Competition and will advance to the national competition in New York, NY on February 4, 2011. The competition reflects the audit, tax and advisory firm’s commitment to help educate students by bringing the profession to the classroom.

ILLINOIS is among 18 other colleges and universities from across the country to participate in the regional case competitions. In the Midwest regional round, the ILLINOIS College of Business team competed against the University of Wisconsin and Notre Dame in the KPMG Chicago office. Each team, comprised of four students, were given 3 hours to form observations and recommendations on a business case study based on a real life company.  The teams presented their findings to a panel of judges, including KPMG Partners from various practices in the Firm and the Campus Recruiting Director.

In the upcoming national competition, Ben, Alex, Chris, and Lindsey will compete against teams from five other colleges in the country including ones from the University of Texas and the University of Washington. The national winner will travel to Istanbul, Turkey for the final three-day global competition in April 2011 to compete against the winning teams from over a dozen countries.
