Bryce Faulkner was selected to receive the 2009 FSA Student Award at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The FSA Student Award is an annual recognition of an outstanding Master of Accountancy student at the University of Illinois.
FSA stands for Federation of Schools of Accountancy--the organization of accredited graduate programs in accounting. The FSA seeks to encourage excellence in all phases of accounting education. One way the FSA does so is to specially recognize superior students enrolled in the fifth year of 150-hour accounting programs leading to a post-baccalaureate degree. The Department of Accountancy at the University of Illinois is a full-fledged and active member of the FSA. Currently, there are 101 full member schools and 49 affiliate schools in the FSA. In addition, several of the largest public accounting firms in the United States, several state societies of CPAs, the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Canada are non-profit associates.
