Fifteen Faculty Win Entrepreneurial Honors

The Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership is proud to announce the 2007-2008 recipients of the Faculty Fellows awards. The fifteen newly elected fellows will spend the upcoming academic year teaching courses involving entrepreneurship across both the University of Illinois and Parkland campuses. The fellows represent ten diverse colleges and fourteen unique disciplines, spanning the breadth of educational programs. From Kinesiology to Fine and Applied Arts to Biology, the fellows are distinguished ambassadors of cross-campus entrepreneurial learning.

The Faculty Fellows Program was initially created to foster growth in the number and scope of entrepreneurial courses available across campus. Faculty from all disciplines can apply for annual funds that are awarded based on curriculum merit. Fellows may either design entrepreneurial materials to be integrated into currently taught courses, or develop a new course that teaches entrepreneurial concepts.

Awards up to $15,000 for a new course or $10,000 for course revision are granted for a one year term. The Academy also provides additional support, such as funding for attendance at national entrepreneurship conferences. Now in its third year, the Academy has sponsored twenty-nine Fellows on the UIUC campus.
