So your interest is French, or biology or dance – or any of the over hundred majors at Illinois. You’d like to use that interest to start a business, join an entrepreneurial firm or not-for-profit, launch a social venture, start a private practice, be an independent artist. That is, you want to be entrepreneurial, though you may use that in any of a variety of settings.
To build your skills in entrepreneurship and innovation, Illinois offers many useful courses. Below is a partial list, as course offerings may change.
Co-curricular activities – business plan competitions, workshops, internships, student organizations, etc. are also available. Check out the websites of the Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Technology Entrepreneur Center to identify opportunities.
Further examples of social entrepreneurship opportunities are available at this link.
