    Illini Entrepreneurship Network
    http://ienetwork.illinois.edu/

The mission of IEN is to promote entrepreneurship on campus and encourage students to create their own ventures.

We currently run the following projects:

    Student Venture Accelerator (SVA)
The Student Startup Incubator is designed to help student entrepreneurs gain a competitive advantage. The SVA provides students with free office space, as well as other amenities such as computers, printers, phones, fax, server space, and internet access.

    Consulting
IEN has a team of student consultants who have experience working with local businesses and startups in the Research Park. This team not only helps startups get off their feet, but also provides our members with valuable consulting experience.

    Networking
The most difficult part of any startup is finding the right people to work with, so networking is a core part of IEN.

    BC Foundation
    www.buscf.org

BC Foundation is an entrepreneurial student organization as well as a network of entrepreneurs – centered on strategy consulting for student start-ups and on promoting entrepreneurship on campus. We work closely with the Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership to promote entrepreneurship on campus through several avenues:

    • Work with prospective entrepreneurs by refining, critiquing and pushing forth innovative business ideas on campus.
    • Consult for highly promising start-ups by refining the business plan and strategic direction of the start-up, generating firm financial projections and applying strategy consulting frameworks to better position the start-up for market entry.
    • Network with our growing Venture Capital and Angel network to connect high-growth start-ups with seed capital.
    • Eventually create a summer program, sponsored by the Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership, to incubate and fund student start-ups over the summer by paying for interns and providing space and funding on a project-by-project prototype development basis.
    • In addition to running business projects, BC Foundation manages its own Social Entrepreneurship fund in the College of Business.

BC Foundation's vision is to be a driving force for entrepreneurship and innovation on campus, and to address a need for consulting frameworks in relatively inexperienced student start-ups.

    Hillel Philanthropic Innovations Forum
    Hillel PIF
This social entrepreneurship initiative is co-sponsored by the Academy and the Hillel Foundation (http://www.illinihillel.org). A series of workshops on creating a social venture culminates in a competition for funds to launch that venture. Fraternities and sororities have used this opportunity to strengthen their charitable fundraising activities. The Illini 4000 for Cancer (http://www.illini4000.org) used their winnings to create the Portraits Project archive of cancer patients and survivors.
