Welcome to Delta Sigma Pi | Upsilon Chapter
The Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi is a professional business fraternity at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The chapter has been actively contributing to the University and the surrounding community since its inception on April 29, 1922.
Our members build lifelong relationships with each other in both professional and social settings. We look to make connections that last far beyond college and strengthen our organization by taking on a number of social events together including Biz Bowl, Business Olympics, and Progressive Dinner.
We strive to improve our strong standing with the University of Illinois, our extensive alumni network, and our 11 corporate sponsors. Our members have the opportunity to develop themselves professionally with events such as mock interviews, resume critiques, etiquitte dinners, and exclusive networking events.
We look to make a positive difference in the world. Delta Sigma Pi commits to supporting the communities around us by working with a number of local and global causes and hosting philanthropic events such as the Tree of Hope, Suicide Prevention Walk, and Kickin' It With Corporate.
Letter From The President
Hello, and welcome to the Upsilon chapter of Delta Sigma Pi at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign! My name is Trevor S. Martinez, and I am honored to be serving as the President of our chapter for the upcoming year while in the process of completing my bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance at the Gies College of Business. I am a Spring 2016 initiate, and during my time as a brother of this amazing organization I have grown and developed in ways I could have never imagined during my first interaction with the Brothers of this fraternity. Delta Sigma Pi is a professional organization committed to developing the next generation of business leaders, in addition to forging friendships that quite literally take you across the world.
What forges the strong brotherhood in our chapter is the willingness and commitment for our members to the continuing development of each other. But our strength does not end there, with over 250,000+ initiated brothers around the country and around the world, Delta Sigma Pi is truly a global community of people looking to bring out the best in each other. No more is this evident in the success of our brothers upon entering the workforce. With a 100% job placement rate and strong ties to the Chicagoland community, our members truly understand the lifelong benefits this organization is able to provide, and the excitement our alumnus have in getting to meet the next generation of our brothers.
Delta Sigma Pi is America's foremost business fraternity for men and women pursuing careers in business. The Upsilon chapter dedicates itself to brotherhood, community service, and professional development. Our brotherhood and the close bond all of our brothers have with each other is what differentiates Delta Sigma Pi. I encourage you to talk to the brothers about this brotherhood during the recruitment process. Every brother has a different experience but has a story or a memory of why Delta Sigma Pi has been instrumental in shaping their collegiate career. Over the past few years the fraternity has lead fundraising benefits for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge, lead a Suicide Awareness walk, facilitated Kickin’ It With Corporate, and engaged in many more service outings!
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional business fraternity built to foster the study of business in universities. We focus on furthering our brothers professionally and also staying connected with the business world. Our relationship with the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois is another focus for our fraternity as a whole. The involvement of faculty in our chapter gives our brothers an opportunity to learn, grow, and enhance their involvement with the Gies College of Business.
Pledging Delta Sigma Pi has altered my college experience exponentially for the better. Delta Sigma Pi has empowered me to identify and achieve my goals, both personal and professional. I hope for you to learn just how valuable this fraternity is on your own, and I invite you to rush Delta Sigma Pi this semester. To learn more about our chapter, please join us at our Information Night on Thursday, January 18th at 5:00PM at ARC MP6.
