David T. Whitford is an associate professor
in the Department of Finance. He earned an MBA and Ph.D. from
Georgia State University and has been on the Illinois Finance
faculty since 1977.
Professor Whitford teaches courses in working capitol management,
short-run financial management, and investments. In 1995 he
received the Keith E. Sawyer Executive MBA Service Award.
His name has appeared frequently on the university’s
Incomplete List of Teachers Rated as Excellent.
His research focuses on corporate cash flow patterns and
their impact on risk and return and the effects of CEO compensation
patterns on stock prices.
