Visiting professor, Economic University of Vienna, Austria, since 1985. Taught in management training programs and several universities in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Poland, United Kingdom, and several East Asian countries.

President, vice president of the Academy of Accounting Historians, 1978-79, 1976-77. Served on the editorial board of the Accounting Historians Journal, 1980-87, 1989-94 and the Management International Review. Currently on the editorial advisory board of the International Journal of Accounting, since 1988; member of editorial board of the Arab Bank Review.

Teaching and Research

Teaches courses in management accounting, international business, and international accounting. Has developed and taught courses for executive education programs (recently in Prague, Budapest, Warsaw). Research focuses on performance evaluation and management accounting in multinational companies, development of environmental accounting, and privatization issues (legal, accounting, social). Has served as a consultant to Esso, Siemens, Haendler & Natermann, IBM, HoeschAG, Deutsche TreuhandAG, and other companies (1963-present).
