Webstore and Dreamspark
If you are in a class that requires the use of a specific Microsoft product, your professor may be able to provide you with a temporary license for the approximate duration of the class.
Step 1. Navigate your browser (**Note it is important to use either Firefox or internet explorer for use with the webstore**) to www.webstore.illinois.edu and click "Personal Purchase."
Step 2. On the left side of the screen click "Login:"
Step 3. Login using your NetID and your NetID password.
Step 4. In the "Product Search" box type in "DreamSpark" and then hit "go."
Step 5. This will now bring up a page with all of the available DreamSpark software options. For this example we will choose Windows 7 Professional.
Step 6. After clicking the program of your choice, you will see a screen showing details of the program and its requirements. On this page click "Add to Cart."
Step 7. After accepting the EULA you will be taken to your cart where you have the option to checkout. If you are done shopping click "Check out.".
Step 8. You will now see a receipt page showing your purchase, along with instructions for your software.
Step 9. If the download link for your software is not listed on this page, as in this example, simply click your Order History as highlighted in the above image. This will take you to a page where you may click your order number to see the details of the software you have purchased. Occasionally there will be a download link on this page for your item as well.
Step 10. Once you have clicked the order number you will be taken to another page which has the download instructions. In this case I am required to download a Product Download manager which will take me through the steps.
Step 11. After clicking this I am taken to another screen giving me the required instructions to install the software. Follow the instructions on this page and remember you can always click the "?" if you have trouble with a specific step.
