Larry DeBrock Named Associate Dean
In an April 18 email to College of Business faculty and staff, Dean Avijit Ghosh announced the appointment of Professor of Economics Larry DeBrock to the position of Associate Dean for Professional Programs, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. DeBrock is expected to work closely with College of Business departments and units to design the Colleges overall strategy for enhancing the excellence of its professional programs. He will provide academic leadership to the MBA and Executive MBA Programs and serve as the College liaison to each of the professional graduate programs.
Since joining the College in 1979, DeBrock has led various departmental and College-wide projects. Most recently he has been the academic director of the MBA Program and chaired the committee that completed a review of the MBA curriculum.
The dean said DeBrock is "an exceptionally gifted teacher--admired both by the more than 1,400 students each year in his introductory economics course and the practicing executives in the EMBA program. I am grateful to have such a universally respected and talented colleague join the Colleges administrative team."
Larry DeBrock has a bachelors degree from Bradley University and an MA and PhD from Cornell University. He teaches microeconomics at the introductory and MBA level. His research interest in applied microeconomics focuses on topics in industrial organization, health economics, and labor issues.
