Student Workers Honored
Awards were based on the a candidate’s reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and his or her uniqueness of contribution to the employing unit. Thirty-nine student employees from across campus were nominated for this award. Michelle and David tied for third place and received ‘Honorable Mention” for their outstanding contributions to Business Career Services
Kincaid’s nomination statement noted that the two-year employee, a finance major, sees the big picture in the office. “She understands how her work will affect other areas, and she has frequently caught problems, notified [permanent staff] of oddities, and created time-saving new processes. In this way, Michelle has contributed more than just her time and performance of given tasks. She has impacted our Business Career Service office by being a key player in understanding our mission and working alongside the team to accomplish our goals."
Wolke, a finance major, is described as a walking advertisement for the services of the office, promoting the benefits and opportunities with his fellow students. His nomination statement highlighted his teamwork. “[David’s] demonstrated leadership, the exhibited maturity, willingness to work on the BCS team, and an attitude to expect excellence has impressed everyone in BCS. Over the past year, David’s expertise and assistance have added great value to Business Career Services.
Both received a certificate noting their achievement.
“I’m pleased that these students are receiving the recognition that they deserve,” said Lois Meerdink, assistant dean and director of the office.
