College of Business maintains prestigious AACSB business accreditation
The College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has maintained its business and accounting accreditation by AACSB International —the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Earned by less than 5 percent of the world’s business programs, AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education.
To maintain accreditation, a business program must undergo a rigorous internal review every five years. It must also demonstrate continued commitment to 15 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, faculty-student interaction, and continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in degree programs.
“AACSB accreditation is a powerful testament to the caliber of our faculty, students, staff, and alumni,” remarked Larry DeBrock, dean of the college. “It shows us that we’re doing things right, and helps provide the impetus to make our college even better—developing new learning initiatives, expanding our international reach, and attracting and retaining the best faculty.”
