ILLINOIS Graduates Still in High Demand
Champaign, Ill. – 110 top businesses and organizations and more than 2,000 job seekers will attend the 15th annual Winter Business Career Fair at the campus Activities and Recreation Center on Monday, February 2 & Tuesday, February 3, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
The event is designed for ILLINOIS students and alumni from all three campuses interested in business careers with such companies as Archer Daniels Midland, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, State Farm, and many others.
"This is a great opportunity for all ILLINOIS students seeking full-time jobs and internships for a chance to network and exchange information. While most of the companies are recruiting for business positions, the fair is open to all students at the University," said Rebecca Goben, assistant director for recruitment.
Goben also noted that prior to the career fair workshops are available to help students get the most out of their experience. On January 28th at 5:00pm, PricewaterhouseCoopers and cosponsoring student business fraternity Beta Alpha Psi will present "Effective Resume Writing." On January 29th at 6:00pm, the Kellogg Company and their cosponsor, American Marketing Association & Business Media Group, presents "Career Fair Success," a workshop geared to preparing students how to sell their skills successfully at the career fair. In addition to the workshops, business students may sign-up to have a recruiter critique their resume, or select from more than 15 companies who will help them polish their interviewing skills.
The event is planned and managed by Business Career Services of the College of Business, along with the following co-sponsoring student organizations: Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA), Business Council, Finance Club, and Minority Business Students Association (MBSA).
